What Does the Suspension System Do?

Wagon Suspension System Repair

Ages ago, before the advent of motion dampening components like shock absorbers and struts, vehicles relied on the suspension alone to reduce stress on the moving parts and riders alike. That worked reasonably well and safely at the speeds they were designed to operate in.

Today's vehicles operate at much higher speeds and are precision engineered for maximum efficiency and accuracy. However, much like a wagon loosing a wheel, these systems are not infallible.

The primary function of your car's suspension and steering system is to allow the wheels to move independently of the car, while keeping it "suspended" and stable. Any play or uncontrolled motion in these systems results in a deterioration of handling and accelerated tire wear. Vehicle alignment is closely tied to the condition of the suspension and steering systems

At Dulles Auto Clinic we have suspension experts on staff and have performed repairs on every type of suspension made, even wagons.
